Posters are advertising media, usually on paper or paperboard, which have been used since the late nineteenth century. They are used to promote or inform through visual messages that have been printed on them.

They are usually placed on billboards, stuck to walls, pieces of furniture and other types of backings.

They can be placed both indoors and outdoors as they are intended, like any other advertising media, to reach out to the maximum possible number of potential consumers.
